The SCOTT Spark RC SL TR bike is an outstanding model from the Scott brand that falls into the category of cross country race bikes. It represents a perfect blend of high-quality carbon processing, unprecedented integration and just the right amount of "secret ingredient". Scott has developed this model to make it faster both uphill and downhill. By increasing the suspension travel, optimizing the geometry and incorporating feedback from the world's best athletes, a bike has been created that is unparalleled in its class. The bike has 120mm of travel both front and rear, which provides a balanced ride feel and performs well on both demanding trails and fast descents. The frame of the Spark RC Carbon HMX SL is an example of top engineering. It integrates suspension technology and the Syncros cable integration system, resulting in a clean look and improved aerodynamics. At just 1870g (including shock), it is one of the lightest 120mm travel frames on the market. The fork comes from FOX, a FOX 34 SC Float Factory Air with Kashima coating, which offers precise adjustment and a lockout function. The shock, also from FOX, a NUDE 5 Factory EVOL Trunnion, supports the versatility of the bike in different types of terrain with its three modes - Lockout, Traction Control and Descend. When it comes to the drivetrain, the bike relies on state-of-the-art technology with the SRAM XX SL Eagle AXS 12-speed system, which offers wireless electronic shifting. A special feature is the SRAM Eagle AXS Rocker Controller, which ensures fast and precise gear changes. The wheels, Syncros Silverton SL2-30 CL full carbon, paired with DT Swiss 240 Ratchet EXP 36 hub and SRAM TyreWiz, offer an excellent combination of stability, lightness and reliability. In summary, the SCOTT Spark RC SL TR bike offers an impressive balance of speed, lightness and technology that makes it a front runner in the world of cross-country road bikes.

The Scott Spark RC is bold in more ways than one, with longer travel and more progressive geometry than any other dedicated World Cup race bikes out there. As cross-country race courses evolve, the bikes have slowly been catching up, but it feels like the...

Scott's new XC race bike feels great down a hill, but relies on its lockout remote
- Smooth suspension flatters riding skill and creates grip where others fail
- one of the tidiest frames on the market, with decent Syncros finishing kit
- It relies on its lockout for the best performance
- lacks a little spark when instant accelerations are needed

Name an XC event, and chances are that the unstoppable force that is Nino Schurter has probably won it on a Scott Spark RC WC.
- Ruthless in its efficiency
- Suspension could be more supple in Descend mode
