Its wheels, the Merida EXPERT TR, have a 29mm inner width and are tubeless-ready. The bike's front tire is the Maxxis Dissector, and the rear tire is the Maxxis Minion DHR II. The MERIDA ONE-TWENTY remains one of our favourite bikes on flowing trails. It’s handling always motivates you to leave the brakes open and send jumps that are actually far too big for a 120 mm bike. It is a very capable trail bike but, unfortunately,...
- tremendous fun on flowing trails
- amazingly capable for so little travel
- clean cockpit and sophisticated spec
- seat tube angle too slack
- rims are missing tubeless tape and they dented very easily
- inconsistent noise of the rear hub is annoying

Seriously lightweightand and dripping in top-drawer XTR components
- Seriously lightweight. Blisteringly quick in all aspects of riding, including being surprisingly capable on descents. Dripping in top-drawer XTR components.
- While undeniably fast-rolling, the Maxxis Rekon Race tyres neuter the bike in more demanding situations. KS dropper lever is awkward to use and a bit glitchy.
Alex Evans
A conceptually sound bike, but by trying to please two very different styles of riding, by blending XC geometry and trail bike components, Merida has missed the mark
- Supportive and bottomless-feeling rear suspension and the XT drivetrain performed flawlessly
- RockShox fork is a known quantity
- Geometry at odds with its spec and it's difficult to ride well when the trails get tricky
- it's not as comfortable as it should be on the descents or climbs
David Arthur
The One-Twenty is a short travel ripper that's surprisingly capable on the descents.
- Reach could be a touch longer
- Travel will hold you back before geo and equipment does
- The paint job and decals
- sorry Merida, I’m not a fan
