Ready to rip out of the box, the dialled Canyon Torque AL 6 is excellent value, with well-specified and reliable components
- Sorted package with good geometry and parts
- strong wheels
- chunky Fox 38 fork and X2 shock
- Shimano drivetrain
- Doesn’t offer anything outstanding in terms of handling or ride character in a crowded marketplace

- Solid and confidence inspiring, smooth in the rough and playful on flow trails, low standover and mullet set-up gives great agility.
- Coil shock can take a bit longer to get the perfect set-up. Maxx Grip front tyre might be a bit slow on mellow jump trails.

Freeride Fun: 2022 Canyon Torque Long-Term Review A single-minded beast of a bike that is made for those who like to go big.
- Stable at speed
- Good value
- Very confidence inspiring
- Comfortable in the rough
- Solid build, quiet on the trail
- Mullet set-up ideal for the intended use of the bike
- 2 additional spring weights included
- Tubeless out of the box
- Steep seat tube makes for a good climbing position
- Not very “poppy”
- Slow on mellow trails
- Proprietary, oval headset spacers are a little awkward and can collect dirt in an unnecessary place

- Long front center + short back end is fun, but can require extra attention at times
- Low geometry position is really low – may not be all that useable for riders pedaling in rocky terrain
